Long time..

Well I haven't had much reason to blog lately with all the rabbits being gone and what not, but I plan on picking it back up this summer as Ratchet is still around and I might just blog about his adventures, random health tips and other such things like that.

Not much else to report for now.

New Year, New Beginnings

2011 is officially here, and I am so excited to announce that a pair of Black English Spots will be joining the herd on January 16th. A senior pair, buck and doe, both showably marked and proven producers. After losing my entire Jersey Wooly herd a few months ago, things have been rough and I've been waiting for a while to start my herd again.

No Jersey Woolies are definitely coming in as of yet, but that's just because I haven't made any definite purchase agreements, just have a few bunnies lined up to take a look at in Westbrook on the 16th, and will be making my Wooly decisions from there.

There may also be a new breed joining the farm as well. Woolies are here for good, they are my main breed, my heart breed. Spots are here for a fun side project and promotion, and I am debating on a production meat breed for personal benefit. If everything pans out, and the right breeders attend the show, I will be taking a look at some Creme D'Argents. I was thinking about Satins again, but with the colors available being my favorites, I know I would get attached based on color and would have a hard time letting them go to my dinner table. If the Creme's are a no show, then I have Mini Satins lined up on the back burner.

I will update everyone on the 16th when I return home with the new additions!

It's been a while!

I am really bad at keeping up with blogs, and usually most of mine end up getting lost in the large world of the internet never to be blogged on again.

However, I have just been insanely busy the past few months. From losing my entire JW herd with the exception of Ratchet, to getting a new barn and setting it up, then working 2 jobs, I have been right out straight.

Time for some good news eh?

Well, I will be rebuilding my Jersey Wooly herd soon, and am bringing in another pair of English Spots to get this breed under way in my barn. Jeann Ann St. Pierre and her children have really helped me with this breed, and have some truly beautiful Spots from very nice lines that they have offered me. Not to mention they got me started with a Solid Blue brood doe with VERY nice type.

Keep checking back for updates, I'm hoping to have some Spotted babies running around near the middle of February. I may also consider PaSRBA Convention this year if I can get my Wooly numbers back up in time!

New Barn Coming Soon!

I have been in the process of creating a rabbit only area. In the past my rabbits have always occupied stalls in horse barns, and while I never had an issue with this at all, I have just always wanted a space that was JUST rabbits.

I went to Lowe's, and found a really cute little garden shed, 10'x12' for $121, and a floor kit for $20. Next week I will be getting my new rabbit only barn and setting everything up. I am so thrilled, it is honestly probably going to be one of the happiest moments of my life, to have a space that's all mine, my own barn, just for my rabbits :)

It is all solid, one of those metal sheds, but I am going to be modifying it, making windows and adding some vents for superior ventilation.

TSC Grain Trip today.

I wanted to pass out when I got to the register. Grain, Nylon Rope Halter, Dog bone and a bag of dog treats was nearly $50!!!

Anyway, after my mild heart attack I realized I forgot to look for a new slicker brush for my Angora. I was cutting it close on time so I just left, I probably didn't want to see the prices of the nice slicker brushes with the stiff bristles.

Took Flick in with my to the store and of course he had to have something from the doggy treat isle. He always picks out what he wants. I pull something from the shelf, show him, and if he wants it he tries to take it in his mouth. Well today the only thing he would put in his mouth of course had to be expensive, but how could I say no to my main man. I couldn't, and I spent way too much money, ugh!

It feels good to be back!

It's been a long time since I've had a blog! My last blog died very early on, I found myself too busy to continually keep it updated, then the breeds changed, location changed and I started all over.

For all of those who previously followed me and haven't heard the latest news; English Angora's and English Spots joined my barn this summer. I have a new ES herd buck coming in on the 28th of this month and recently traded a brood quality JW for a nice little Fawn EA Jr. Buck.

Pictures and all of that fun stuff is on my website as always, which has changed once more, for the last time. Autumn Frost Farm is official and it's staying. I'm settled into a place that's mine, no more location changes for me!

Keep checking back for updates!
